An Update on the Hurricanes

Roatan is very lucky to be away from the main hurricane belt in the eastern Caribbean. We rarely ever get hit by hurricanes and enjoy relative safety over in the western Caribbean. But, recently, two hurricanes swept across Central America, hitting mainland Honduras very hard and in quick succession.

Again, Roatan was spared. We did not get hit directly by Hurricane ETA nor Hurricane IOTA. Our relative safety from hurricanes remains and the island is perfectly ready and excited to welcome you for a visit.

But mainland Hondurans are now struggling in the aftermath of incredible flooding and destruction of property. Many people have lost everything.
