Meet the Owners: Lionfish 302
Dianne Hartshorn and her husband, William
VonDerHeide, own our featured 2-bedroom rental: Lionfish 302. Like many
visitors to Roatan, it didn’t take long for our island to enchant them
completely!
“It was the 5th day of our vacation discovering Roatan,” Dianne
explains. “December 31st, 2004, we put a down-payment on our future condo at Lawson Rock
and created a Honduran corporation. We closed on our condo on May 8th,
2008.”
Dianne and William have been visiting Roatan ever since, enjoying the island
life and their beautiful condo in Lawson Rock. “Because we owned and
operated a recruiting firm, for most years we could only come for one week,”
Dianne says. “When we closed our 41-year recruiting firm, we took our
first long vacation of one month. That did it. We try to come for one month
each January and it is wonderful.”
“At Lawson Rock, we feel very secure because of the great security program,” she continues. “The guards have been very helpful when we have our older family members visit with us, keeping an eye that they are safe walking around the property. There is also a very warm and welcoming attitude among other owners and we have made several delightful friendships.”
Dianne and William have really enjoyed their experience purchasing and owning property in Lawson Rock. “First of all the people are wonderful,” Dianne says. “From our realtor, Mary Monterroso, and the team at Lawson, Mike Carter, Gene DeMarco, Liz, and the great support team – all of our interactions have been so positive.”
“We’ve watched the great work Roatan Vacation Rentals performs for fellow owners and heard how caring and ethical they are,” says Dianne. “Even though we haven’t been renting through them in years past, the team has been just wonderful to us, helping us solve problems from time to time. So when we decided to place our condo in the rental program, it was easy to choose them.”

Lawson’s Market and Delicatessen
is right around the corner from the Roatan Vacation Rentals office here in
Lawson Rock, so we consider ourselves experts for this particular spot!
The wonderful staff here serves breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. Breakfast is
served all day and daily lunch plates offer island-style cooking for a taste of
Roatan for everyone.
The market boasts some local products, plus wine, beer, and snacks for
take-out, which is very convenient for any Lawson Rock residents. Freshly baked
treats are also always available and they even sell whole pies with one-day
advance notice.
The Deli is a local’s dream spot…away from the crowded tourist
areas with indoor and outdoor seating, AC, and free WiFi. And the friendly
staff makes everyone feel like a local, while the prices are very reasonable!
“Chef Susan’s talent in the kitchen is quite legendary,” says Deli
owner Teri Bolton of her fabulous staff. “Sherrie and Supi are the perfect
support team. And our newest staffers, Jim and Demmy, round out the Deli team!
They are all very friendly and I think they have the best smiles on the island.
They don’t mind chatting you up either!”
