Great private spaces and gathering spots

We are a group of three families who travels together to scuba dive quite frequently. The little apartments allowed us all to have privacy, but the big dining space and the extra chairs let us all sit down at the same table at dinner time. We dived every day and hired Roatan Chef Service to make dinner most nights…. The kitchen was well stocked and it was great to all sit together and then go to sleep in our private air-conditioned bedrooms with plenty of distance between families. We dove with sundivers and they would come right to the house dock to pick us up in the morning—-Pretty much a perfect vacation and a perfect house

An Island Xmas

There really is something for everyone in the lead-up to Xmas day and of course, the celebrations begin in Roatan on Xmas eve with local families gathering to attend community churches and to enjoy a traditional dinner, tamales included.

For the ex-pat community on the island, Xmas day is spent with family and friends and for many of us accustomed to a white Xmas, the day is spent at the beach with a cool drink in hand.

Of course, we need to mention here quickly New Years’ Eve and the famous fireworks show in both West End and West Bay Beach, with parties going well into the evening, it’s a night not to be missed if you are in Roatan.

With so much happening in the month of December if you are lucky to enjoy visiting the island at this time of year you will not be disappointed.

Whale Sharks in Utila & Roatan

It’s been a lucky few weeks for divers and snorkelers in the Bay Islands, with multiple sightings of migrating whale sharks in Utila & Roatan.

If you are lucky and get the chance to experience sometime up close with the whale sharks please remember to remain at least three meters away from the whale shark at all times, and at least four meters from its tail (this is also for your own safety). Never ever touch a whale shark or get too close – it can cause them undue stress.

Migrating whale sharks, are one of the many wonders you will find underwater in Roatan. Learn more below about how you can assist us in protecting and preserving the Roatan Marine Park for future generations.
